PromptCatalog Rules
Last updated:
Updated with technical publishing standards, AI assistance, responsible security discussion, reporting, and moderation review.
Welcome to PromptCatalog! These guidelines describe how we expect users to behave when interacting on our site. By participating (commenting, posting, sharing), you agree to follow these rules.
1. Be Respectful
You should treat other members of our community with respect. Do not harass, bully, intimidate or discriminate against others. Constructive disagreement is fine — personal attacks or hateful language are not.
2. Publish Useful, Accurate Technical Content
Keep prompts and comments relevant to AI prompting, model use, and related workflows. Use clear titles, relevant tags, readable explanations, and examples you have checked. Distinguish facts, opinions, estimates, and assumptions. Link to supporting sources for factual claims where practical, and correct material errors when you discover them.
AI assistance is allowed, but you remain responsible for accuracy, originality, and rights. Review generated text and code; do not invent citations, benchmarks, credentials, or claims of personal experience. Disclose substantial AI-generated material when omitting that information would mislead readers. Do not flood the site with repetitive or unreviewed generated prompts.
Submissions begin unpublished, and publication depends on permissions and review. Major edits or tag changes can return a prompt to unpublished status. Do not use edits to replace approved content with spam or unrelated material.
3. No Hate Speech, Harassment or Discrimination
We do not tolerate content or behavior that targets a person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or other protected characteristic.
4. Share Security Knowledge Responsibly
Technical discussion of security is welcome. Do not distribute malware, steal credentials, encourage unauthorized access, or publish secrets, access tokens, or private customer data. Use synthetic or properly anonymized examples and environments you are authorized to test. Report vulnerabilities in this Website privately through Contacts with enough detail to investigate; do not exploit them.
Do not post unlawful threats, sexual exploitation, or content that promotes violence or self-harm.
5. No Spam, Manipulation, or Hidden Promotions
Do not use duplicate accounts, bots, coordinated voting, fake follows, or repeated comments to manipulate ratings or visibility. Do not impersonate another author or evade a ban. Critique ideas constructively; do not harass authors over ratings or moderation decisions.
Relevant links and your profile's donation option are welcome. Disclose sponsorships, affiliate relationships, and other financial interests when discussing a product. Do not use misleading donation links, unsolicited advertisements, or payment promises to influence reviews or moderation.
6. Respect Intellectual Property
Only share content you own, have permission to use, or may use under applicable law. Attribution alone does not grant permission to use third-party work.
You may reuse or republish content covered by our content reuse policy by crediting PromptCatalog and linking to the original page. Check that policy for third-party material and earlier contributor content. When publishing here, you must have the rights needed to grant the permissions in our Terms of Service.
AI rewriting is not a way around the source credit requirement. If you reuse or adapt content under our policy, including by paraphrasing, summarizing, translating, or restructuring it with AI or manually, credit PromptCatalog and link to the original page. Do not conceal the source or present someone else's adapted work as independently created content. The scope and legal exceptions in our content reuse policy still apply.
7. Protect Personal & Confidential Information
Do not publish another person's private information without an appropriate right to do so. Do not upload passwords, private keys, customer records, confidential employer documents, or identifying screenshots. Uploaded images are accessible by URL even before a prompt is published.
Your profile location, external links, subscribed interests, and selected activity history may be public. Share only what you want visitors to see. Use Contacts for private reports and privacy requests rather than posting sensitive information in comments.
8. Reports, Moderation & Review
Report rule violations through our Contacts page. Include the relevant URL, a short description, and supporting information that you have a right to share. For copyright reports, follow Terms section 5.
We may reject prompts, restrict content, or ban accounts based on the circumstances and severity of the issue. If you believe a decision was mistaken, request review through Contacts and explain why. We do not guarantee a particular outcome or continuous monitoring of all content. Do not retaliate against someone for reporting a concern.
9. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these guidelines as the community and features change. Revisions will appear here with a fixed update date, and material changes will be identified. These Rules work together with our Terms of Service.
